Description

The Stanford Microarray Database is currently a private database for Laboratories at Stanford University, and their collaborators. Stanford Researchers using microarrays from the Stanford Functional Genomic Facility also have access to SMD for storage of their data. Data become public once they are published or once they are released by the experimenter. The Stanford Microarray database curators can answer questions about additional access. Please send e-mail to array@genome.stanford.edu.

Viewing SMD Public Data

To view public data in the SMD Database, you need to click the green Public Search button on the SMD HomePage. Keep in mind that MicroArray database accounts will only be given to internal users and verified collaborators of Stanford University laboratories. For more information, please refer to the Registration Protocol page

Viewing SMD Unpublished Data

To view unpublished data in the SMD Database, you need to register. Keep in mind that MicroArray database accounts will only be given to internal Stanford users and their verified collaborators. For more information, please refer to the Registration Protocol page

Proprietary Data

Please note that some data in the database are proprietary and subject to legal restriction on their use, re-use and distribution. This includes but is not limited to Affymetrix (license terms here) and Agilent oligonucleotide sequences and patented sequences. It is the responsibility of the person viewing or downloading such data to ensure that such use does not infringe on the intellectual property rights of others, by agreeing to relevant licenses or obtaining necessary permission.

Entering Experiments into SMD

To enter experiments into SMD, you need an SMD account and an account on loader.stanford.edu, and we require that they both use the same username. Only people working in a Stanford University laboratory or customers of SFGF may enter experiments into the SMD database. If you are a collaborator, the person at Stanford with whom you collaborate will be responsible for entering data generated by the collaboration.
